Cake Pops!

A few people who knew I was making these asked me to post pictures. Its bite size cake on a stick dipped in chocolate and sprinkles....oh yea! I made them for Matt's cousins' bridal shower. They were a big hit and super easy to make (although the dipping process took some practice). I went a little overboard on the picture taking....bear with me....

Bake a cake - I used a Devil's Food Cake Mix. Then let cool completely.

Crumble the cake in a large bowl and mix in your choice of frosting...I used Cream cheese frosting. I used almost the entire can. You want the mixture to easily roll into balls.

Roll the cake mixture into balls and place on lollipop sticks. Place in refrigerator for several hours or in freezer for 30 min - 1hr.
Dip cake pops into your choice of candy coating or melted baker's chocolate. Use a deep bowl. I found it was best to dip "head first", twirl it around, then spoon some up the sides. Then twirl some more and tap the stick on the edge of the bowl to tap off excess. I dried them on wax paper, but next time I will place them upright in styrofoam to dry!

A perfectly coated pop!

Plus some sprinkles....

YUM!
I told you I went overboard :)
Here's the website where I found these lovely treats:
